The simple answer is YES!

Quality inspections are an essential part of your supply chain. Consider it insurance for your brand and reputation. Without it, it will cost you more when a defective a product lands into your customers hands. Not only will you have to deal with unhappy customers, you’ll end up paying for any returns as well as the cost giveaways in order to keep them happy.

The worst thing that can happen is that it affects your sales. In Amazon for example, you’ll be penalised twice. Once by Amazon who will reduce your best seller rank, and second by potential customers who see the negative review and choose to go with your competitor’s products.

PRO TIP: If there are issues during your quality inspection, DO NOT ask your manufacturer to pay for the cost of a re-inspection. This is known as inviting the wolves to look after the chickens. Always pay for it yourself and negotiate for the cost to be refunded in a future order.
